Move-Ups
MLAHA Player (Goalie or Skater) Move-Up Policy
The term “moving up” refers to a player playing up from his/her Minnesota Hockey age group. It is our policy that players play on teams as defined by Minnesota Hockey age groups and classifications.
- Grade-Based Move-Ups: Players eligible to move up based on grade level will be granted advancement without evaluation.
- Skill-Based Move-Ups: In certain cases, MLAHA may host evaluation sessions to determine eligibility for moving up, depending on the number of players at each level.
All decisions regarding player advancement must involve collaboration between:
- The current level head coach
- The head coach of the level the player is moving to
- The Player Development Director
Final approval must be granted by the MLAHA President.
